There are a lot of sleepless nights caused by chronic snoring.  While there are more than enough products on the market to alleviate this problem, very few of them offer a long lasting solution.  There are strips that you can place over the bridge of your nose to open up nasal passages and there are sprays and inhalers as well. Sleep apnea is another disorder that can be caused by a deviated septum and can also be cured by rhinoplasty.

The nasal septum is the cartilage and bone that separates the nasal cavity between the nostrils. When it is deviated to far to the right or left it can block the nasal passage. Deviation is most commonly cause by blunt trauma or genetic disorder and can be corrected through rhinoplasty.

In the US, because most insurance plans do not cover cosmetic procedures, a patient with a deviated septum may have rhinoplasty Texas or  Orange County rhinoplasty rejected by their insurance company as cosmetic in nature.  The problem requires that the patient have his / her physician communicate clearly with the insurance company that the rhinoplasty Texas is being performed for medically necessary reasons and not for cosmetic enhancement.

Rhinoplasty, or in another area: Beverly Hills nose surgery, for medical reasons can be performed by a plastic surgeon or otorhinolarnygologist or ENT; ear, nose, and throat specialist.  The risks involved with rhinoplasty Texas are the same whether the procedure is medically necessary or cosmetic and should be discussed in detail with the physician that you have chosen to perform the procedure.

Risks for rhinoplasty include, bleeding, infection, and septum perforation.  Even though the risks are minimized substantially by choosing an experienced and board certified physician, the patient should still be made aware of possible complications prior to surgery.   The operation itself should last an hour or two and the recovery for this type of rhinoplasty should take no more than a month.

In the case of deviated septum there is not usually much of a facial cosmetic difference after the surgery, but it should relieve the patient of chronic snoring and sleep apnea.
